God Give Me Ears
Have you ever been told something only to forget it later? It happens to me all the time, I am told to do something at work but my mind was on other things and I forget what I was supposed to get done. Maybe I am not paying enough attention to my spouse and don't fully hear what they are saying to me. It can be a dangerous thing that can make us miss important parts of our lives. Have you ever wondered what you might be missing from God? God communicates with us in many different ways and believe it or not, has constant communication. If we aren't listening to God as He speaks to us in our lives, what are we missing that we could be using for His glory? We could be missing some of the greatest callings of our lives by not listening and paying enough attention.
Revelation 1:5-6 CSB
And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has set us free from our sins by his blood. And made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

If you have never read the book of Revelation, I would call it a must read. It is a powerful book that tells us what we can expect to see when Jesus returns. It is a very detailed account of the future events we can expect to see. What we need to remember is that God created us as a reflection of Him, and with a purpose to fulfill His purposes and bring people to Him.
Revelation 2:1 CSB
“Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus: Thus says the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and who walks among the seven golden lampstands.
What we read in Revelation tells us that two thirds of the Earth will die, death rides in on a horse, and continues to tell tales of what it will look like when Jesus returns. And you better believe He will return.
A lot of the world sees the church as the building that stands on the streets of town. What we need to keep in mind is that God called us to be the church. Church isn't a building; it is the people in the building. We represent God everywhere we go and should live our lives in a way that will glorify Him through our actions and the way we love the people around us. The trouble with being the church is that we are human. We have our flaws, and those flaws can cause us to fail God in our purpose.

There are four things that are common problems in the church.
Distraction- Often we find that we can get distracted by many things of the world. The real mission of God can take a back seat to these distractions.
Dilution- There is a lack of consistency and integrity in us that impairs God's image and reflects more of what we see in the world.
Lack of Discipline- We has become to tolerant to false teachings and to sinful behavior.
Depletion- We gets weary when they rely on things of the world instead of the things of God.
Revelation 2:7 CSB
“Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.”
We have got to keep a pulse on the things listed above so that we are ready to hear from God. The more prepared we are, the closer we are to Him, the more we pay attention, the better we will be able to represent Him in our lives.
God give me ears open to what you will say to me, the church, so I can be obedient to you.
